Hello and welcome!

I’m Ruth, a journalist with nearly twenty years experience across print, broadcast and online media – from The Times and Channel 4 News to Haymarket Media and Practical Publishing.

I’m also a recovering academic, with a doctorate from the University of Oxford on how affluence affects artistic creativity.

And I’m a maker – my primary interest being sewing (though I’ve been known to dabble in portraiture). I sew professionally as well as for fun and this practice contributes enormously to my understanding of the creative drive.

All this informs the unique perspective on creativity, productivity and wellbeing I write about here.

If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch using the contact page or say hello on Instagram @grinlowsews.
